Joshua Zimm, MD
Dr. A. Joshua Zimm received his medical training in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at New York鈥檚 finest teaching hospitals. He completed his residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He also trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, St. Lukes -Roosevelt Hospital, and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. After being in practice for 10 years, Dr. Zimm completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Peter Adamson at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Zimm graduated from the University of Virginia in 1991 and attended the Medical College of Virginia where he graduated at the top of his class in 1995. He is board certified in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and currently resides on the attending staff at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Zimm has received numerous honors and awards throughout his career. In 2004, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Other honors include the New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council Distinguished Housestaff Award in 2000, First Place Basic Science Research Award in 1999, Second Place Clinical Research Award in 1998, and Third Place in the Resident Research Competition in 2001. He also was selected to participate in the Massey Cancer Center Oncology Fellowship in 1993. More recently, Dr. Zimm was selected as one of 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Top Physicians鈥� by the Consumer Research Council of America in 2013, 2010, 2009 as well as 2007, and as a Lifetime Member of Strathmore鈥檚 Who鈥檚 Who in 2004. Dr. Zimm was selected as 鈥淢an of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare鈥� for 2009 for outstanding contributions to medicine and healthcare as recognized by the American Biographical Institute. Dr. Zimm is a member of the The Rhinoplasty Society of Europe. The RSE is a dynamic development and maintains close collaborations with european and global societies.
Personal LifE
Outside the office
In his downtime, Dr. Zimm enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending time with his wife and teenage son.聽 He is an expert at all genres of music and is a huge sports fan, cheering on the New York Knicks or the Yankees.聽 His warm and welcoming ways are carried into his personal life as well, entertaining friends and family and meeting new and interesting people during his travels.
He is very much a family man and values spending as much time with his loved ones as possible. Dr. Zimm enjoys playing tennis and, in the winter, skiing, though he admits he does it less often now, as the risk of injury becomes a bit more daunting with age.
Dr. Zimm is also passionate about music and frequently attends live shows. He plays golf occasionally, though not as often as he would like, and has long been drawn to the arts, including sculpture and other creative pursuits.
He loves living in Manhattan, appreciating its vibrant energy, excellent restaurants, beautiful parks, and diverse, fascinating people. He also makes a point to take at least one international trip each year, whether for medical conferences or leisure. Traveling allows him to experience new cultures, which he feels makes him a more well-rounded person and surgeon.
